Authorities said Monday that criminal charges won’t be filed in a Jan. 5 crash in Winona that killed four people, including the driver. The Winona County Sheriff’s Office said the driver, Christina Hauser, had a blood alcohol level of .168 at the time of the crash and was speeding. The sheriff’s office said that because Hauser died, she couldn’t face criminal charges in the case.
A search for a fourth victim presumed drowned when an SUV plunged into the Mississippi River is resuming in Winona County. Sheriff Dave Brand says crews will drill holes in the ice and lower a camera into the river Tuesday.
