The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday they’ve re-signed running back Matt Asiata, who became a restricted free agent after last season. In three seasons with the Vikings, Asiata has appeared in 42 games with 10 starts.

The Minnesota Vikings outlasted the Chicago Bears for a 13-9 victory Sunday at TCF Bank Stadium. The Vikings finish the season with the third best record in the NFC North, despite winning just one inter-divisional game. The Vikings’ good, but not great, performances from the offense, defense and special teams units helped bring the win home.

The Minnesota Vikings took a two touchdown lead before surrendering the lead in the second half. The Vikings fell Sunday to the Miami Dolphins 37-35 on a blocked punt safety with 41 seconds remaining in the game. The Vikings offense was good enough to win, but the defense was bad. The special teams units made one mistake that gave the Dolphins the game in regulation.

The Minnesota Vikings jumped out to a 14-0 lead before surrendering 16 unanswered points to fall to the Detroit Lions Sunday at Ford Field. The Vikings got early touchdowns from Matt Asiata and Greg Jennings, but a pair of Teddy Bridgewater interceptions turned the game around. The Vikings failed to get points the rest of the game, including a blocked field goal and missed field goal attempt in the second half.

The Minnesota Vikings have claimed running back Ben Tate off waivers from the Cleveland Browns. Tate was signed Wednesday, when running backs Matt Asiata (concussion) and Jerick McKinnon (lower back injury) both were held out of practice. The move also came the day after the NFL announced a suspension of running back Adrian Peterson for the rest of the season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
