Minnesota Woman Pleads Guilty In Methadone Death

A Newport woman has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder for giving methadone to her husband to help him sleep. Jennifer Johnson changed her plea Monday in Washington County court after pleading not guilty less than a month earlier.

Man Pleads Guilty In Woman’s Methadone OD Death

A Cottage Grove man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for a woman’s fatal methadone overdose. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said Friday that 20-year-old Adam David Wickard pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter. Wickard was immediately sentenced.

Father Gets Prison In Son’s Drug-Related Death

A 59-year-old Goodview man is sentenced to nearly five years in prison in the drug-related death of his 34-year-old son. Authorities say Jeffrey Schumacher Sr. supplied methadone to his son, Jeffrey Schumacher Jr., who died in May 2012.

St. Paul Man Charged For Crash That Severely Injured 2 Girls

A 47-year-old St. Paul man was charged Friday in Washington County in connection with a Lake Elmo crash that severely injured two young women. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said Jon Ross Wentz faces eight felonies of criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm involving negligence, blood alcohol and controlled substances in his system.
