Feeling better after missing his first game of the season because of a flu-like virus, Dwight Howard promised to put on a show for his Mexican fans. And he delivered. Howard, who missed Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, had 22 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday as the Houston Rockets beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-101 at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in the first regular-season game played south of the border since 1997.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will make their second attempt to play a regular-season game in Mexico City, after last year’s game with the San Antonio Spurs was canceled because of smoke inside Mexico City Arena.
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday they’re going to try and play an NBA regular season game for the second time this upcoming season in Mexico City. The Timberwolves will be the home team when they face the Houston Rockets on Nov. 12 in the Mexico City Arena.

The Mexico City arena where the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves are playing an NBA game Wednesday night was evacuated 45 minutes before tipoff because of smoke inside the arena.
