Wisconsin’s Johnson To Stump With McFadden

A neighbor from the east is coming to Minnesota to give Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike McFadden a boost. Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson was expected to join McFadden in Rochester Saturday for a meet-and-greet with supporters. McFadden has pointed to Johnson as a political role model — like McFadden, the Wisconsin Republican was a businessman prior to winning his seat in 2010.

McFadden Renews Call For Ebola Travel Ban

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike McFadden is renewing his call for a travel ban from countries being ravaged by Ebola. McFadden says the fourth confirmed case of the virus in the country — a New York doctor recently tested positive — proves the U.S. hasn’t done enough to halt Ebola’s spread.

Outside Dem Group Launches Ad Attacking McFadden

A top Democratic-aligned group will begin airing ads this week attacking Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike McFadden. In the first big money pouring into the race, Alliance for a Better Minnesota’s ad will hit McFadden for considering an increase to the Medicare eligibility age. Deputy Director Joe Davis says the group will spend a “significant” six-figure sum to air the ad, which will start Tuesday and run through Election Day.

Warren Stumps For Franken At Carleton; McFadden In Central MN

A top liberal U.S. senator invoked the late Sen. Paul Wellstone in Northfield Saturday, echoing his populist tone in urging voters to give her colleague Sen. Al Franken a second term. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren rallied a crowd of 400 dotted with old Wellstone T-shirts at Carleton College, where Wellstone taught and planted his political roots.
