Officials with the Minneapolis Park Board said authorities were called to Hidden Beach on East Cedar Lake at about 4:41 p.m. after a resident walking their dog near Hidden Beach on Cedar Lake discovered the body.

Mpls. Police Watch For The Vulnerable In The Bitter Cold

Minneapolis Police officers are being asked to keep an eye out for people on the street who may not be dressed properly, or are in need of help. “It doesn’t take long in these sub-zero temperatures for people to get hurt,” said First Precinct Inspector Medaria Arradondo. He says one of his officers has even started to hand out blankets to those in need.

inneapolis Police officers found an entertaining way to address a serious problem. The department made a video meant to warn people of the dangers of not securing valuables when shopping and parking downtown. “With it being Christmas, I mean they’re always expecting more gifts, more items to be in the car, so they’re out searching more,” said Officer Chad Nelson.

Henn. Co. Sheriff: Beware Of Phone Scammers

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens about phone scams. Residents have reported being called by people who claim arrest warrants are out for them due to unpaid court fees, fines or missed jury duty. The sheriff’s office says the calls have led to unauthorized credit card use, identity theft and other forms of fraud.

Man, 25, Charged With Murder In Mpls. Rail Station Stabbing

A Minneapolis man is charged with murder in connection to the stabbing death of a 58-year-old man at a light rail transit station in Minneapolis Saturday. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office says police were dispatched to the Lake Street – Midtown Station along the Blue Line at about 1:30 p.m. on reports of an assault in progress.

Phone Scammer Posing As Ramsey Co. Sheriff’s Office

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to beware of calls from a scam artist posing as a member of the sheriff’s office. Officials say several citizens have reported receiving phone calls from someone asking them to settle up unpaid warrants by placing money on a prepaid card.

Four people were injured early Saturday morning in a shooting on a party bus in downtown Minneapolis. The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on 3rd Street South and Hennepin Avenue, according to Minneapolis Police.

Gun Seized In Traffic Stop Linked To NE Minneapolis Murder

A gun found during a routine traffic stop in north Minneapolis lead to charges in an unsolved northeast Minneapolis murder. Eulalio Gonzalez-Sanchez, 36, had just gotten off a city bus near 22nd Avenue Northeast and 7th Street Northeast back in September. It was early on a Sunday morning when he was shot and killed. Investigators believe it was a robbery gone bad.

Gophers’ Daquein McNeil Arrested For Domestic Assault

Minnesota sophomore guard Daquein McNeil was jailed Tuesday without bail after his arrest on a felony domestic assault charge involving his girlfriend. McNeil, who was suspended from all team activities pending the investigation, was booked Monday, according to jail records. The Hennepin County attorney’s office had until Wednesday to charge him, spokesman Chuck Laszewski said.

Mpls. Police Find Stolen Cars Used In Twin Cities Crime Spree

inneapolis Police have recovered two stolen vehicles used in a crime spree across the Twin Cities. Now they’re looking for those who are responsible. The van and car were stolen from the Summit Neighborhood in St. Paul sometime late Friday night. The thieves used the vehicles to store other stuff they had taken.

The Minneapolis Police Department is the latest Minnesota law enforcement agency to begin equipping officers with body cameras. As part of a pilot program being launched Friday, 36 officers will wear the cameras for six to nine months to test their effectiveness.

Thirty-six police officers in Minneapolis will start wearing body cameras next week as part of a pilot program to test out their effectiveness. Mayor Betsy Hodges and Police Chief Janee Harteau announced the pilot Thursday.
