Police Seeking Suspect In Minneapolis Armed Robbery

Police are looking for a suspect after a convenience store was held up at gunpoint Saturday morning, but the store owner also took his own action. Minneapolis Police responded to a report of an armed robbery just before 9 a.m. at the Handy Stop on the 2600 block of West Broadway Avenue.

Police Arrest Juvenile In Connection With Deadly Shooting

A fight on a metro transit bus Thursday night led to yet another deadly shooting in north Minneapolis. It’s the third homicide in that part of the city just this month, and starting Friday, extra patrols will be out to try to stop the violence.

Man, 41, Shot Dead In N. Mpls. After Apparent Bus Argument

A man was shot and killed after stepping off of a Metro Transit bus Thursday evening in north Minneapolis. Police say the fatal shooting happened near Penn Avenue North and North 26th Avenue just before 7 p.m.

MPD Officer Wins 5th Consecutive Charity Eating Contest

The Twin Cities finest stretched their stomachs Tuesday afternoon — all in the name of charity. Officers from St. Paul, Minneapolis and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Department took part in the third annual “Wiener Take All” hot dog eating contest.

Dog Shot During Police Chase In N. Mpls.

A foot chase through a north Minneapolis neighborhood Friday ended with a teenager in handcuffs. But it also had sad consequences for neighbors caught in the middle. An officer shot and killed a dog that had nothing to do with the kid being chased. But that kid’s actions played a big part.

‘U’ Motorcycle Officer Injured In Minneapolis Chase

A University of Minnesota motorcycle officer was injured in a high-speed chase Saturday morning in Minneapolis. According to Minneapolis Police, the incident happened just after 11 a.m. in Seven Corners near the U of M’s West Bank campus. The officer ran the plate of a black SUV with a trailer attached to it and found that it was stolen.

All-Star Game A ‘Success’ For Minneapolis

About 160,000 people are exiting the Twin Cities Wednesday on the heels of the 2014 MLB All-Star Game. And the preliminary consensus is it was a success. Target Field housed more people the past few days than it ever has before. Around 50,000 people watched baseball’s best, and their families, roll down the Red Carpet in Tuesday’s parade.

Frizell Beats Stanek In Henn. Co. Sheriff’s Deputies Assoc. Vote

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Deputies Association has voted overwhelmingly in favor of incumbent Sheriff Rick Stanek’s opponent on Wednesday. Minneapolis Police Deputy Chief Eddie Frizell received 75 percent of the votes, while Stanek only received nine percent. Sixteen percent of votes were to endorse neither candidate.

Police: Suspect Sought In Target Field Protest

Minneapolis Police are looking for a suspect after a protester allegedly gained access to a video board and put up a large banner during the All-Star Game Tuesday night at Target Field. Officials with the Minnesota Twins said the incident happened sometime during the early innings of the game.

Mpls. Police: 25 Car Break-Ins In 2 Weeks In Phillips

Minneapolis Police are warning residents after 25 car break-ins were reported in the Philips area during the past two weeks. Police say 21 of the 25 break-ins happened in daylight hours, and most of the thefts involved items that were left out and visible.

Top Safety Officials Keep Close Eye On Mpls. During ASG

Between the All-Star Game events and the thousands of spectators, it’s a lot to monitor. “It’s a big operation,” Minneapolis Police Commander Scott Gerlicher said. The security command post for the All-Star Game, which kept at an undisclosed location, houses around 30 of the top city, state and federal law enforcement officials who are working together this week.

Minneapolis Police say a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing early Sunday morning. Police were called to the 3600 block of Emerson Avenue North at about 2:56 a.m. on a report of a stabbing.

Volunteers Plant Seeds In Violence-Stricken N. Mpls.

Minneapolis Police working on the city’s north side have their hands full again this week. Three women were shot early Wednesday morning outside of a home on Fremont Avenue North. The women were all seriously hurt. Officers say they think the shooter knew the victims. Mayor Betsey Hodges addressed the latest violence Wednesday.

Police: 12 Garage Burglaries Last Week In SW Mpls.

Minneapolis Police are warning residents, especially those in the southwest corner of the city, to lock up their garages after 12 reported burglaries in the last week. Police say 11 of the 12 garages were either left open or had an unlocked service door.
