The chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system has agreed to a new three-year contract. MnSCU said Monday that the Board of Trustees has entered into a second three-year contract with Chancellor Steven Rosenstone.
Phil Krinkie says he will leave his post as president of the Minnesota Taxpayers League because of his newly announced run for Congress. But the Republican hasn’t decided if he’ll stay on as a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system trustee. Krinkie, a former state representative, announced last week that he is joining the race for the congressional seat being vacated by Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann. Krinkie said Monday he was stepping down from the Taxpayers League after leading the anti-tax group since 2007.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees has selected two finalists to be the next chancellor of the system’s 32 state universities and community and technical colleges.
Like many Minnesota State Colleges and Universities schools facing budget trouble, Ridgewater College in west central Minnesota is planning to lay off staff.
