It wasn’t a record-breaking crowd, but at least six figures made their way through the gates on the first day of the Minnesota State Fair.
St. Paul Police say that a 17-year-old girl was almost abducted after she left work at the Minnesota State Fair. According to police, the incident happened at about 9 p.m. Thursday near the east side of Snelling Avenue at Arlington Avenue.
Gov. Mark Dayton says the group Black Lives Matter has raised valid concerns about vending opportunities at the Minnesota State Fair. But, Dayton says the group’s planned protest outside the fairgrounds is “inappropriate.”
