Charges: MSU-Mankato Adviser Tried To Drug Student

Additional charges have been filed against a Minnesota State University, Mankato community adviser who is accused of burglarizing dorm rooms and using pepper spray on a woman. Alexander James Gowan-Nuehring, 20, is accused of breaking into a dorm of a fellow community adviser and putting pills in her water that he knew she was allergic to.

MSU Student Adviser Accused Of Burglary, Assault In Woman’s Dorm

A 20-year-old Mankato man is accused of burglary, assault and stalking after a female college student was woken up by an intruder and allegedly pepper-sprayed in her dorm room, according to charges filed Monday in Blue Earth County Court. Alexander James Gowan Nuehring was charged with first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling, first-degree burglary with possession of a dangerous weapon, first-degree assault and stalking in connection with the incident.

Police say they made an arrest Saturday after a masked suspect woke up someone sleeping in a Mankato dorm and pepper sprayed them.

An English instructor at Minnesota State University instructor has produced a literary magazine that focuses on the horror genre. Colin Scharf teamed up with a fellow writer based in Colorado to release “Spooklights,” which was published in August.

The former Minnesota State, Mankato football player who made a remarkable recovery after he was gravely injured in a bar fight last May suffered a seizure over the weekend. Isaac Kolstad was taken to the emergency room on Friday night where doctors diagnosed him with epilepsy.

Isaac Kolstad Still Critical After Surgeries

The former Mankato football player who was allegedly assaulted by two men last weekend successfully underwent another surgery Friday morning, according to his CaringBridge page. Issac Kolstad, who used to play football for Minnesota State University, Mankato, is still in critical condition. He will not undergo any other procedures or surgeries for the next couple days, according to his brother Blaine Kolstad.
