Delegation Members Want Hibbing VA Inquiry

Several members of Minnesota’s congressional delegation are calling for an investigation of alleged misconduct at a Veterans’ Affairs clinic in Hibbing. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Reps. Tim Walz and Rick Nolan asked the VA’s inspector general to look into claims by some ex-employees that they were ordered to backdate appointment records to make waits appear shorter.

Top VA leaders say there is a federal investigation looking into allegations of misconduct within the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The director of the Minneapolis VA health care system said the Office of Inspector General is interviewing whistleblowers who say they were pressured into falsifying patient records at the hospital.

St. Paul Priest Removed For Alleged Misconduct With Minor

A St. Paul priest has been dismissed from his St. Paul parish after allegations that he engaged in misconduct involving a minor. According to Jim Accurso, media and external relations manager for the St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese, Reverend Curtis Wehmeyer was removed by Archbishop John Nienstedt after learning of allegations of misconduct. Wehmeyer was the pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish in east St. Paul.
