It’s a combined effort to keep games competitive but at the same time, limit traveling expenses for schools. So instead of previewing districts this year, here is a look at how Class 6A could shake out based on last year’s state tournament teams.

New Life Academy of Woodbury in Class 1A, St. Cloud Cathedral in Class 2A and Mounds View in Class 3A are back in their respective brackets, all as the top seed. Authorities say an 8-year-old boy drove his foster family’s car with two younger children inside from St. Paul to Mounds View before pulling safely into a random driveway. Minnesota State Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Tiffani Nielson says none of the children or anyone else on the roads were injured.

The Minnesota State High School Bowling Tournament gives participants the tingles. “It’s so exciting,” said Derrick Prenot of the Winona bowling team. “We were kind of anxious after the first round because we weren’t sure if we were gonna make it in or not. Then we heard our name and we were like, ‘Whoa!’ And then we kinda kicked butt in, not to brag or anything, we kinda kicked butt in the second round. Now we’re here.”
