It’s called The Nic on 5th. The building is on the corner of Nicollet Mall and 5th street, right by the light rail line and connected to the skyway.

There’s a new coffee shop in the Twin Cities. Its brew comes with bitters in it, even though bitters are more commonly thought of as an ingredient for cocktails, not java. Furthermore, the coffee you can get at Five Watt is bought directly from a roaster based in Wisconsin.

Minneapolis Police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning near downtown. Police received reports of shots fired in the area of 15th Street and LaSalle Avenue at about midnight.

Cops: Bloomington McDonald’s Robbed At Gunpoint

Bloomington police are investigating after an early Saturday morning robbery at a McDonald’s. The incident took place at 3:30 a.m. on Nicollet Avenue as police said a man walked in, showed a gun and forced employees into the kitchen area.

Man In Custody After Burnsville Gas Station Standoff

One man is behind bars after a standoff with police that forced a busy highway to close early Saturday evening. According to Burnsville Police, a man with a sawed-off shotgun entered the Holiday Gas Station on Highway 13 and Nicollet Avenue in Burnsville at 6:15 p.m. The man fired once in to the ceiling, and took two employees hostage. Police arrived soon after, and were able to talk the man down to the point of surrender. The gunman made no demands during the standoff.

Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation Of Mpls. CVS

Police and bomb squad units are investigating after a bomb threat was called in at a local CVS Pharmacy on Monday. Officials say employees at the CVS Pharmacy at Franklin and Nicollet received phone and email threats about a bomb in the business.
