Niederreiter, Wild Come Back To Beat Islanders 5-4

Nino Niederreiter tapped in the go-ahead goal with 4:33 left and capped a furious comeback by the Minnesota Wild in a 5-4 win over the New York Islanders 5-4 on Tuesday night. The Wild trailed 3-0 after the first period and 4-1 at the second intermission, but they were fired up midway through the game. Defenseman Keith Ballard was sent to a hospital after his head bounced hard on the ice, following a hit from Matt Martin.

The average age for a diagnosis of ovarian cancer is 63, so it was a shock when a 7-year-old Minnesota girl found out she had it. We first introduced you to Harlie Corneliusen in September. After chemo and some dark days, she is now free of cancer.

Niederreiter Scores 3, Wild Beat Sabres 6-3

Nino Niederreiter had his first career three-goal game and Niklas Backstrom stopped 25 shots on Thursday night as the Minnesota Wild broke out of a scoring slump for a 6-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres to snap a four-game skid. The Wild have been missing leading scorer Zach Parise since Nov. 4. He’s out with a concussion and Minnesota scored two goals in three straight losses without him.

Wild Sign RW Nino Niederreiter To 3-Year Deal

The Minnesota Wild have signed right wing Nino Niederreiter to a three-year contract. The Wild announced the deal Thursday. Minnesota had been negotiating with Niederreiter all summer and time was running short with training camp set to begin next week.

From Nino To Nino: Wild Star Congratulates 10-Year-Old Hero

An NHL star was among those moved last month by the heroism of 10-year-old Nino Johnson, of Maplewood, who saved his grandfather, Pino Lipari, from drowning. Lipari was in his backyard pool playing ball with his grandson, when the ball drifted into the deep end. Lipari is not a strong swimmer, but tried to retrieve the ball anyway.
