North Minneapolis Tornado
The tornado that touched down in North Minneapolis last year displaced hundreds of families. On Sunday, one family thanked the community for helping them piece their lives back together.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified candidates to volunteer as Special Deputies. Special Deputies perform public safety duties at community events, crime scenes, on water, and during emergencies. The Sheriff’s Office currently has 125 Special Deputies, who provided more than 15,300 hours of service in 2011 alone.
Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of the tornado that ripped through the north side of Minneapolis.
If you hear tornado sirens going off Thursday, don’t be alarmed. Just be aware, as they’re a reminder to everyone that the season for tornados is near.
