Art-A-Whirl Twirls Into NE Minneapolis For Its 20th Year

The music and art worlds merge for the 20th year in a row at the Art-A-Whirl festival. It spans northeast Minneapolis, and ranges from avant-garde to fine art. There are more than 50 locations that are hosting events, including art studios, galleries, homes, businesses and restaurants.

A pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle along Central Avenue in Northeast Minneapolis Monday morning. Minneapolis Police said the vehicle was traveling southbound on Central.

Teen Charged In Murder Of Man At Minneapolis Bus Stop

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a man who had just stepped off a city bus in northeast Minneapolis last September. Montrell Maurice Webster was arrested after a traffic stop, where officers found a gun in his possession.

Man Arrested After Shooting Ex’s Home, Pointing Shotgun At Police

A 36-year-old man is in custody after a brief standoff with police in northeast Minneapolis late Wednesday morning. Police say the former girlfriend of Major James Moore called 911 just before 11:30 a.m. to report that he was standing outside of her residence with a weapon.

Family Displaced In 1 Of 2 Overnight NE Minneapolis Fires

The Minneapolis Fire Department battled two fires – and bitter cold – in northeast Minneapolis overnight. Shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to the first fire, located at 81 St. Anthony Parkway. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the roof of a large warehouse and learned that an aluminum pile was burning inside.

Authorities ID Victims Of Fatal Northeast Minneapolis Crash

Authorities have identified the two people who died after the vehicle they were riding in hit a tree in northeast Minneapolis. Police say the front-seat passenger, 26-year-old Shannasey M. O’Rourke, and the driver, 30-year-old driver Paul S. Buchanan, died in the early Saturday crash.

Gun Seized In Traffic Stop Linked To NE Minneapolis Murder

A gun found during a routine traffic stop in north Minneapolis lead to charges in an unsolved northeast Minneapolis murder. Eulalio Gonzalez-Sanchez, 36, had just gotten off a city bus near 22nd Avenue Northeast and 7th Street Northeast back in September. It was early on a Sunday morning when he was shot and killed. Investigators believe it was a robbery gone bad.

Mpls. Fire: 2 People Rescued From Miss. River Island

Two people were rescued from an island in the Mississippi River near northeast Minneapolis Tuesday afternoon. According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, two people became stranded after walking out to an island just west of Marshall Terrace Park near Marshall Street Northeast and 28th Avenue Northeast.
