Jury Selection Begins In Trial Of Danielle Jalinek’s Death

The trial begins Monday for a man accused of killing an Oakdale woman. Hundreds of volunteers spent five months searching for Danielle Jelinek, who was reported missing on Dec. 9, 2013. Her body was eventually found in a small pond near the house of her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Schnagl.

Power Restored To 4,300 Customers In East Twin Cities

Over 4,300 customers lost power in the areas of Oakdale, Maplewood and Lake Elmo Tuesday morning. According to a spokesperson with Xcel Energy, 4,376 customers were without power for three hours, beginning at 5:47 a.m.

The American Red Cross is hosting a big blood drive Monday. Officials said they want to boost the supply before a lot of donors go out of town or get too busy over the holidays. The 12 Hours of Giving Holiday Blood Drive started at 7 a.m. Monday and goes until 7 p.m.

Survivors Emotionally Collect Pieces Of Collapsed 35W Bridge

Minnesota transportation officials are distributing remnants of the Interstate 35W bridge that collapsed in 2007. MnDOT says the material is being distributed at its Oakdale facility from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Legislation passed this year specifies who’s eligible for the steel and MnDOT says it’s contacted most of those people and groups.

Girl Out Of Hospital After Being Accidently Shot By Brother

A 9-year-old girl has left the hospital after she was accidentally shot by her 5-year-old brother in North Oakdale early last Friday evening. The girl was shot with a .22-caliber rifle that was apparently left out for repairs.

Oakdale Girl In Stable Condition After Being Shot By Brother

Oakdale Police say a 9-year-old girl was accidentally shot by her 5-year-old brother in North Oakdale early Friday evening. She was taken here to Region’s Hospital in St. Paul, and is currently listed in stable condition. Witnesses say she was sitting up and was able to respond to questions. But it seems there are still some big questions as to how this happened.

Mom Of Murdered Oakdale Boy Speaks Out On Gun Laws

Nine-year-old Devin Aryal loved soccer. His mother, Missy Aryal, wears the medals he won. “We were inseparable. He always told me that we were super glued unless we were working or at school. And nothing could ever break the super glue,” Aryal said. But in February, Aryal and her son were shot on their drive home from daycare. She remembers hearing pops as she was about to turn at this intersection.
