Rochester Man Killed When Motorcycle Hits Deer In Olmsted Co.

A Rochester motorcyclist was killed Friday night when he hit a deer on Highway 52 in Olmsted County. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened at about 7:15 a.m. The 40-year-old man was traveling southbound on Hwy 52.

Ash Borer Infestation Found In Olmsted County

Minnesota officials have confirmed trees in Olmsted County are infested with the destructive emerald ash borer. The state Department of Agriculture said Wednesday the county will join Hennepin, Houston, Ramsey and Winona counties in a state and federal quarantine to prevent the infestation from spreading.

2 Questioned In Dodge County Burglary

Two people are in custody following a burglary Saturday morning in the southeast part of Dodge County. According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to a call around 9:10 a.m. of a burglary taking place at 710 Street in southeast Dodge County. The owner told police upon their arrival home they spotted a vehicle in the yard.

Toddler Pinned Under Tractor In Olmsted County

A toddler is recovering after being pinned under a tractor near Rochester Friday morning, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s office. The 2-and-a-half-year-old boy was sitting on his grandfather’s lap on a Kubota tractor while he was grading his driveway on the 300 block of 60th Avenue Southwest just before 10:45 a.m.
