Minnesotans who bought policies on the state’s health insurance exchange are starting to get their first renewal notices, and many could be in for a nasty jolt.
The board of directors of Minnesota’s online health insurance marketplace has dropped the “interim” tag from its chief executive’s title. On a unanimous voice vote, the MNsure board on Tuesday designated Scott Leitz as CEO. He had been interim CEO since taking over the state-run health insurance exchange in December.
Some Minnesotans eligible for private insurance plans through the MNsure health care exchange may qualify for retroactive coverage, credits or cost-sharing reductions. Two categories of people are eligible.
The deadline to enroll in MNsure is at midnight Monday to comply with the federal health law, and there has been a fierce last-minute push to get people signed up.

It’s getting down to the wire for Minnesotans who are looking to sign up with the state’s online healthcare marketplace. The next enrollment deadline for MNsure, the online insurance exchange, is March 31.
