Paid Administrative Leave
The U.S. Attorney’s office has indicted a Minneapolis Police officer for criminal civil rights violations. Michael Griffin, 40, is accused of assaulting at least four people while off duty.
A Twin Cities teacher is on paid administrative leave after leaving a message in which she could be heard saying she might strangle a student. The message was left on the voice mail of the mother of a hearing-impaired first grader, and was the result of an alleged “pocket dial.”
A high school coach has been placed on paid administrative leave for tattooing minors without their parent’s permission. Terry Robert Hardy, 37, is the gymnastics coach at Park High School in Cottage Grove. He’s been cited for two counts of tattooing minors without written parental consent. A 16-year-old girl told WCCO that Hardy gave her three tattoos and a tongue piercing, all inside his home.
Video released Monday shows Minneapolis Police Officers Brian Thole and Shawn Powell telling Green Bay Police about a fight with a group of black men in late June – an incident that resulted in both officers being placed on paid administrative leave. When Green Bay Police arrived, dash cam video shows off-duty officers Thole and Powell in the middle of a confrontation – which they continue to pursue even after police try and break it up.
