Season Of Hope: The Lemkes Of Belle Plaine All December long, WCCO’s been making the season brighter for families whose stories touched us this year. Earlier this month, a fire destroyed the Lemke family’s barn in Belle Plaine. They lost their kids' outdoor toys and some special chickens that were used as therapy for their son's ADHD. We invited the Lemkes to WCCO in downtown Minneapolis for a Christmas surprise we hope they'll never forget.
Season Of Hope: A Wish For KateIn this week's "Season of Hope," WCCO takes a trip back to Westbrook. In October, WCCO's John Lauritsen went to a fund-raiser for Kate Jorgenson, an 11-year-old girl who lost her left arm in a farming accident last summer. On one of the snowiest nights of the year, WCCO's John Lauritsen returned to deliver a big surprise to Kate and her family.
Season Of Hope: A Reunion In LitchfieldOn Monday nights throughout December, WCCO is going back to visit people whose stories touched us this past year. With generous support from our friends at Slumberland and Pandora Jewelry, it's our hope to make Christmas unforgettable for these families. In this week’s "Season of Hope," we go back to Litchfield High School. In April, we introduced you to two girls who invited boys from their special education program to senior prom.
Season Of Hope: A Surprise For Lila Two-year-old Lila has cerebral palsy and finds working with horses helps improve her mobility. Allie is a teenager who heard Lila's story, and raised close to $3,000 to help pay for her horse therapy session.
