After losing 111-104 to the Toronto Raptors Sunday night, the Timberwolves have now lost two games of the four games they will play at home. The loss dropped their record, once again, to .500 at 31-31. So at this point, with 20 games to go, how many more wins will the Timberwolves need to make the playoffs?
In Minnesota, there’s nothing like the atmosphere, excitement and pressure of high school playoff hockey. That is, unless, you’re Orono’s David McCuskey. In his high school hockey postseason career, McCuskey is averaging three goals a game. He’s only played one, but it was a good one. “I just really like to win. I guess I’m pretty competitive out there,” McCuskey said.

The task is again becoming daunting, and forward Corey Brewer is painfully aware. “We need a win before All-Star break. We got a lot of injuries, man,” Brewer said. “It’s tough when you have injuries.” They are indeed a team riddled with current injuries, and frustrated by another sub-par season. Healthy or not, the Wolves cannot get stops on defense.

Diana Taurasi scored 15 and Brittney Griner had 13 points and six rebounds for the Mercury, who now face a must-win situation in Game 2 in Phoenix on Sunday.
Augustus recently signed a contract extension with the Lynx.

Now the 6-foot-5 budding young star will try and help the Eastern Conference’s top team keep the run going in the playoffs. Delle Donne, the overwhelming favorite to win rookie of the year, said she and her teammates are looking forward to the challenge
Maya Moore had 22 points and 11 rebounds and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 79-66 Saturday night to secure home-court advantage throughout the WNBA playoffs. Lindsay Whalen added 23 points and Seimone Augustus had 14 for the Lynx (26-8), who have won eight of nine. Minnesota finished the season 15-2 at home. Janel McCarville grabbed 10 rebounds. Sylvia Fowles led Chicago with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Elena Delle Donne had 14 points. The Sky (24-10) lost for just the second time in 11 games and will be the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
