Authorities say a homeowner in western Wisconsin shot and injured a man who was attempting to break into his home on New Year’s Day.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says a Polk County deputy was shot and injured near Crookston Thursday afternoon. Police received a report of a shooting just before 1 p.m. inside a home on the 28000 block of 300th Street Southwest in rural Polk County.
Authorities said a 24-year-old Hopkins man is dead after a drowning at a western Wisconsin lake on Sunday. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was called at about 10:25 a.m. to a residence on Kemah Park Lane on Balsam Lake on a report of a missing swimmer.
A 61-year-old woman from western Wisconsin was killed Friday after getting into a crash with a semi-truck, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities responded to the crash at about 10:19 a.m. Friday on State Highway 87 near 250th Avenue in Sterling Township.
