DNR: No-Wake Restriction In Effect On St. Croix River

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources said Tuesday a no-wake boating restriction is in effect on the river between Taylors Falls and Prescott due to high water levels from recent rainfall in the area.

Water Level, Debris Make Minnehaha Creek Unsafe For Paddlers

You may have to change your Memorial Day weekend plans if they include canoeing or kayaking down Minnehaha Creek. The recent rain caused high levels on Lake Minnetonka. As a result, water is being released into the creek to lower it. The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District warns the release is causing unsafe conditions.

No-Wake Boating Imposed On St. Croix River

Authorities have imposed no-wake restrictions on boaters venturing out onto the St. Croix River. Because of high water levels, boaters on the St. Croix between Taylors Falls, Minn., and Prescott, Wis., must go slow to reduce shoreline erosion.

Victims Identified From Western Wis. Fatal Crash

A third child has died from injuries suffered in a collision between a truck and an SUV near Prescott in western Wisconsin. The Pierce County medical examiner says 5-year-old Laynie Jo Amos, of Amery, died around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Third Child Dies After Western Wis. Crash

A third child has died after a terrible accident in western Wisconsin. According to Kari Milberg’s CaringBridge site, the young girl – Milberg’s niece – died on Saturday. The deadly crash happened Thursday near Prescott, Wis. in Oak Grove Township. Milberg, 32, was driving when the vehicle somehow spun into the path of an oncoming truck. Her 11-year-old daughter and 5-year-old niece were also killed in the accident.

2 Children Killed, 3 Hurt In Western Wis. Crash

Two children have died and three other people have been injured in a collision between a truck and an SUV in Pierce County. Sheriff’s officials say a 12-year-old girl in the vehicle died at the scene of the crash Thursday afternoon in Prescott.

Charges: St. Paul Man Punched Girlfriend To Cause Miscarriage

An 18-year-old St. Paul man is facing charges of attempted murder and battery as he’s accused of punching his pregnant girlfriend at a Wisconsin hotel with the intent of causing a miscarriage. Jessy Jordan Holtzkamp was charged with one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child, aggravated battery of an unborn child and misdemeanor battery in connection with the July 10 incident.
