A new type of prosthetic is yielding some amazing results, and becoming a true game-changer for amputees in Minnesota. It involves a 15 hour surgery that is paired with the new prosthetic that is powered by his brain. Only a few Minnesotans have had it.

After Life-Changing Accident, 11-Year-Old Adjusts With Grace

At Westbrook-Walnut Grove Middle School, the dominant game of choice for 6th graders is lightning, and the dominant player is often 11-year-old Kate Jorgenson. “I like basketball and volleyball, but I like basketball a little bit better,” Kate said. It’s all pretty remarkable considering Kate is playing against her classmates with just one arm.

Haiti Earthquake Survivor Gets Minnesota Arm

January 12, 2010 is a day Christella Monteau will never forget. On her 18th birthday, a time that would normally have been filled with much celebration, the late afternoon turned tragic. Devastation brought on by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake had swallowed Port au Prince in panic, disbelief and death.
