No Charges Against Officers In Fatal Day Care Shooting

The Anoka County Attorney’s Office says there will be no charges against two Ramsey Police officers involved in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Chaz Michael Havenor. On Aug. 28, 2014, the two officers answered a call of a suspicious car in the parking lot of The Learning Lodge, on the 6100 block of 157th Lane Northwest.

State Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash In Anoka Co.

One person died in an accident on Highway 10 in Anoka County Thursday. According to the State Patrol, the accident occurred in the westbound lane of Highway 10 and Armstrong Boulevard in Ramsey, Minn.

Ramsey Officers, Victim ID’d In Fatal Daycare Shooting

Two Ramsey Police officers and the man they shot and killed outside of a daycare Thursday afternoon have all been identified. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident, which began after a daycare worker called police to report a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.

Authorities say police shot and killed a suspect near a day care in Ramsey, Minn., Thursday afternoon. Few details were immediately available, but authorities said that the incident happened at The Learning Lodge on the 6100 block of 157th Lane Northwest.

Snow Causes Roof Collapse At Ramsey Business

The accumulation of heavy snow may have caused the roof of a Ramsey business to collapse early Friday afternoon. According to an employee, workers saw the roof of Pro Power Sports begin to sag, and then they heard rivets pop. All employees were able to escape the building before the roof collapsed, trapping trucks, snowmobiles and other products and equipment.

Lawmakers Seek To Ban Cell Phone Use In Construction Zones

Minnesota drivers using cell phones are distracted, and sometimes deadly. Craig Carlson and Ron Rajkowski were killed in 2011 by a distracted driver in a construction zone who was traveling at a high speed. Carlson’s widow, Deb Carlson of Ramsey, says her husband was killed in an instant. “[The] car that was traveling at 70 miles per hour,” Carlson said.

A Ramsey childcare center says they will lose business if a gun training range opens up next door. Little Me Childcare is located next to a vacant building now, but the city council is expected to give a shooting range the go-ahead to move in next door.

Minnesota Man Gets 30 Years In Chicago Cold Case

A 58-year-old Minnesota man has been sentenced to 30 years in an Illinois prison for a decades-old cold case killing. Bruno Salgado of Ramsey, Minn., was sentenced Friday. He was convicted in a June bench trial of the 1982 murder of 28-year-old Ismael Solano.
