Sunday is the biggest day of the year for horse racing in Minnesota – the annual Festival of Champions at Canterbury Park. It is a very important day to everyone involved in the sport locally, especially as Canterbury celebrates 20 years since re-opening, because of what happened two decades ago.

Canterbury Park, Leech Lake Band Of Ojibwe To Simulcast Horse Racing

Canterbury Park has reached a deal with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe to offer simulcast wagering on horse races at the tribe’s northern Minnesota casino. The first-of-its-kind agreement follows legislation passed in 2012, enabling Minnesota tribes currently allowed to conduct casino gaming to receive telecasts of horse races from tracks around the world.
