Songwriter-guitarist Charlie Parr has signed with Minnesota’s Red House Records. Parr’s new studio album, “Stumpjumper,” will be released by the St. Paul-based label on April 28.
Red House Records will stage a St. Paul concert next month honoring the late folk-blues musician Dave “Snaker” Ray. The concert will feature Ray’s former bandmates and admirers. Among those scheduled to perform are “Spider” John Koerner, Tony Glover, Charlie Parr, Camille Baudoin of the Radiators, the John Beach Band, and Willie Murphy and Ray’s brother, Max Ray.
St. Paul-based Red House Records plans to celebrate 30 years as an independent label at a showcase next month. Red House artists will perform Feb. 20 at the 2014 International Folk Alliance Conference in Kansas City, Mo.
