Minnesota Vikings Shock Houston Texans

The Minnesota Vikings used its successful ball control, defensive domination formula to defeat the AFC South champion Houston Texans 23-6 Sunday at Reliant Stadium. Adrian Peterson grinded out 86 yards and Christian Ponder completed 16 of 30 passes to lift the Vikings. The defense held the Texans to 187 total yards and 22 points below their league leading average.

Minnesota Vikings Give Brian Robison A Chance To Play On Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings did not have Brian Robison in practice Wednesday or Thursday, but the starting defensive end returned as a limited participant Friday. He did some work with the defense’s first unit and could play Sunday. His replacement, Everson Griffen, is also banged up, but is not in danger of missing the game.

Minnesota Vikings Face Tough Test In The Houston Texans

The Minnesota Vikings will have to earn a victory Sunday against the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium. The Vikings will have their hands full with wide Texans receiver Andre Johnson and defensive end J.J. Watt. Minnesota needs a win to improve its playoff chances while the Texans need a win to clinch home field advantage through the playoffs.

The Minnesota Vikings can greatly improve their chances of making the playoffs by beating the Houston Texans on Sunday and the Green Bay Packers in Week 17. It still needs some help to claim the final spot in the postseason, but the easiest way to make it is by winning.

A 25-year-old fan died after tumbling off an escalator from the fifth to ground floor while attending a preseason Houston Texans’ game at Reliant Stadium, city police said Friday.
