President Barack Obama has invited the University of Minnesota women’s hockey team to the White House.
The University of Minnesota women’s hockey team clinched a WCHA title with a 6-0 win over Minnesota-Duluth Friday night at Ridder Arena. The No. 1-ranked Gophers got a hat trick from sophomore Maryanne Menefee, the first of her career, and two goals from Sarah Davis.
Seven different players scored Friday night as the University of Minnesota women’s hockey team handled Bemidji State with ease in a 10-0 victory at Ridder Arena Friday night. The Gophers, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improved to 27-1-1 on the season with the win. Minnesota got five goals in the win from the line of Rachael Bona, Sarah Davis and Kate Schipper.
Governor Mark Dayton honored the University of Minnesota Women’s hockey team Monday for their remarkable season. The ladies ended the year as undefeated national champions.
