Truck drivers who have been hauling sandbags around Fargo in preparation for spring flooding chipped in to buy lunch for hundreds of volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to help with sandbagging in Otter Tail County in western Minnesota.
The St. Croix River doesn’t look like much of a threat right now and traffic is crossing the lift bridge as usual.
The city of Moorhead has raised the number of sandbags it wants to have ready in case of spring flooding. It’s now aiming for 1.5 million sandbags, up from a previous goal of 1 million.
Moorhead is calling for volunteers starting Tuesday to help make 1 million sandbags to hold back flooding expected this spring.
