Deer River Man Indicted For Fatally Biting Child

A Deer River man was indicted Friday on murder charges in connection with the biting death of his 3-month-old son – which he blamed on the neighbor’s dog. Emery James Jenkins, 38, faces two charged of first-degree murder and one second-degree murder charge for the death of his son on Oct. 18, 2014, according to the Itasca County Attorney’s office.

Mom Accused Of Drowning Girl Ruled Incompetent To Stand Trial

The 25-year-old St. Paul mother accused of drowning her 6-year-old daughter has been found incompetent to stand trial. Kayla Marie Jones allegedly drowned the girl after an argument with her boyfriend the day before Christmas Eve.

2 Men Charged In Fatal Brainerd Shooting

Two men face charges after a double shooting in Brainerd early Sunday evening, which left one man dead and a woman seriously injured. According to the Crow Wing County Attorney’s Office, 23-year-old Tyler Allan Cronquist of Brainerd faces four criminal charges, including two counts of second-degree murder.

Suspect In Death Of Adrian Peterson’s Son Back In Custody

South Dakota authorities have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect in the death of the 2-year-old son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says Joseph Patterson violated the terms of his bond by contacting the boy’s mother.

Mpls. Man Pleads Guilty In McDonald’s Parking Lot Shooting

A Minneapolis man plead guilty to attempted murder in a shooting that occurred in a McDonald’s parking lot in late August. Clarence James Dickens, 21, was charged with one count of second degree murder, one count of possession of an assault weapon and two counts of dangerous weapons drive by shooting.

A Minneapolis teen pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Monday in a case involving the shooting death of man who was defending his son. According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, 17-year-old Joshua Ford is accused of fatally shooting 38-year-old Andrew Billingsley Jr. on July 24 in north Minneapolis.

A Springfield, Minn. man was arrested in connection with the Sleepy Eye car accident that led to the discovery of human remains last month. Twenty-six year old Miguel Angel Vazquez, of Springfield, Minn., was arrested on charges of second degree murder.

Grand Jury Indictment Unsealed In Sartell Shooting

A grand jury in Stearns County has indicted a St. Cloud man in a fatal shooting outside a strip mall in Sartell. The indictment against 23-year-old Demetreus McGinnis was unsealed Tuesday. McGinnis is accused of shooting 20-year-old Maurice Galvin Jr., in what prosecutors say was a fight over drugs.

Charges: Man Pushed Another Into Moving Car’s Path

A 41-year-old man faces second-degree murder charges after getting into a fight on Wednesday. According to the criminal complaint filed by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Robert Hilgren got into a fight with Michael Merten after the latter apparently tried to fight Hilgren’s son at a party on Rice Street in Little Canada.

An inmate at the Minnesota Correctional Facility – Oak Park Heights plead guilty to murdering a fellow inmate by strangulation in 2013, according to county officials. According to County Attorney Pete Orput, Benjamin Beck, 30, plead guilty to second degree intentional murder in connection to 2013 death of inmate 30-year-old Shane Cooper.
