Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar’s new book “The Senator Next Door” comes out Tuesday. Klobuchar was a guest on the WCCO Morning News with Dave Lee Tuesday morning where she told the story of how she got going in politics.
U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is burnishing her political profile with personal touches in a new memoir. The book is called “The Senator Next Door” and is set to go on sale Aug. 25. The two-term Minnesota senator tells stories of childhood trips from her home in Plymouth all the way to the Hennepin County Attorney’s office and Washington.
Thousands visited Fort Snelling National Cemetery for its Memorial Day Ceremony. It’s said to be the largest ceremony in the state. It concluded roughly 30 minutes ago and, despite light rain, saw big crowds.

wo Democratic U.S. senators from Minnesota and North Dakota are reintroducing bipartisan legislation in an effort to crack down on sex trafficking across the county. The Stop Exploitation Through Trafficking Act is modeled after Minnesota’s “Safe Harbor” law, which protects sex trafficking victims from being prosecuted as defendants.
U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota has made a friendly wager with Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill on the Citrus Bowl game. Klobuchar is wagering her signature “frozen” dessert hot dish against McCaskill’s offering of Buck’s Tiger Stripe ice cream.
