Minneapolis Police are investigating the alleged sexual assaults of two 10-year-old girls, which took place Wednesday morning on the playground at Anderson Elementary School. A 22-year-old man appeared in St. Croix County Circuit Court Monday afternoon after he was charged with the sexual assault of a minor on Saturday. According to New Richmond Police, an officer noticed a vehicle parked in Woodland Creek Park shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday with Ohio license plates. The officer found two males undressed inside, and after questioning found their ages were 22 and 15.
Maplewood and North St. Paul police are investigating two similar armed kidnapping incidents that occurred about 15 minutes apart. In one case, the woman was allowed to escape unharmed and in the other, the victim fought off her attacker and he drove off with her vehicle.

A Chicago man was sentenced Friday to more than 26 years in prison for the sex trafficking of a teenage girl – which may be the longest sentence ever given in Minnesota for such a crime. According to the Ramsey County Attorney’s office, Arteco Marvell Rhodes, 38, was found guilty on Nov. 1 on one count of engaging in sex trafficking in the first degree and possession of child pornography. Rhodes met the defendant, a 15-year-old girl, in Chicago in March, and asked her if she “wanted to make money and be part of the family.” Within weeks, Rhodes drove the teen and a 19-year-old woman from Chicago to the Twin Cities in a conversion van.
