Vikings rookie defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd will have an MRI on his injured left knee. Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier says Floyd will have the MRI because of soreness and to “err on the side of caution” after the first-round draft pick out of Florida was injured in the second quarter of a 27-13 preseason loss to the Texans on Friday night.
Minnesota’s football frenzy began Thursday as players and team officials with the Vikings reported to Mankato for training camp on Thursday. The team will hold its first practice of the 2013 training camp on Friday.
The Minnesota Vikings have taken Florida defensive tackle Shariff Floyd with the 23rd overall pick in the NFL draft.
