Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek has a message for people with active warrants: Turn yourself in before officers come knocking at the door. On Sunday, the sheriff’s office announced that there will be a warrant sweep Tuesday to clear active warrants and make arrests.
A sweep is underway to get people wanted for driving while intoxicated off the roads. Seventy-five officers, some in uniform others in plain clothes served more than 300 warrants for people wanted for DWI.
It seems like there has been a string of shooting rampages all across the country over the last year, and now the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is providing training sessions of how to deal with a situation where an active shooter is involved.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, along with more than a dozen other agencies, are doing a countywide warrant sweep. Their message: Give up now and you might be home for the holidays.
