Minn. Case Causes NHTSA To Call For Expanded Airbag Recall

People across the country are taking their vehicles in to get a defective airbag replaced. When activated, Takata airbags have sent metal fragments flying at drivers and passengers. At least four people have died and 139 people have been injured, including a Minnesotan. Right now the recall applies only to drivers in southern states.

Klobuchar Leads Push For Airbag Recall After Minnesotan Blinded

The government is demanding a recall of millions of airbags in the United States. Government officials said defective Takata airbags are responsible for at least five deaths and more than 100 injuries — but they’ve only been recalled in southern states. The defective airbags have exploded incorrectly and sent shrapnel at drivers and passengers.

Exploding Target Kills Fillmore Man

A bachelor party near Arendahl Township in Fillmore County turned deadly Saturday when a man standing behind a shooter was hit with shrapnel. The Fillmore County Sheriff’s office says Jeffrey Taylor and his sons were invited to a party where people were shooting at explosive targets made of Tannerite. Sheriff Daryl Jennsen said metal objects exploded with the Tannerite
