Alcohol may have played a role in an early morning homicide in South St. Paul. Police were called to a home on the 500 block of South 9th Street around 4 a.m. Friday on a report of a woman’s body inside the home.
South St. Paul Police are asking for the public’s help after they say a 17 year old boy was severely beaten and shot at Sunday night.
A 14-year-old boy suffered non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car on the Wakota Bridge Tuesday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Authorities responded to the accident at about 11:05 p.m. on New Year’s Eve on eastbound Interstate 494 on the bridge in South St. Paul.
Authorities are investigating what appears to be a series of fires that were intentionally set early Tuesday morning in South St. Paul and they’re looking for a suspect. South St. Paul fire officials responded to the fires between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. near the area of Marie and 4th Avenues. Fire officials said as many as 11 small fires were set in a four block by five block area, causing minor damage.
A South St. Paul Police sergeant was charged Friday with two counts of fourth-degree driving while impaired, one count of criminal damage to property and one count of fleeing a peace officer after a run in with Rosemount Police earlier this week. According to the Dakota County Attorney’s office, 26-year-old Cory Michael Slifko fled from a Rosemount Police officer who was attempting to pull him over around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
A 24-year-old Hastings man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she was sleeping at a home in South St. Paul, according to charges filed Thursday in Dakota County Court.
A 24-year-old South St. Paul man is accused of intentionally setting grass fires in a South St. Paul park, according to charges filed Monday in Dakota County Court.
There is a reward tonight to find a man who kidnapped a 12-year-old girl at a bus stop and took off with her in his car.
One suspect is in custody and a victim of an alleged kidnapping was turned over to police early Saturday morning in Newport, authorities said.
