As bad as winter has been in the Twin Cities, conditions are apparently much worse up in Canada. At least that’s one of the major factors that’s pushing a beautiful boreal creature to fly south.

State Park Partially Closed Due To High Mississippi River

The south portion of Merrick State Park, located north of Winona on the Mississippi River, has been closed as a safety precaution due to the river’s rising water. The DNR said the north campground at Merrick will stay open and isn’t affected.
