Lawmakers Seek To Ban Cell Phone Use In Construction Zones

Minnesota drivers using cell phones are distracted, and sometimes deadly. Craig Carlson and Ron Rajkowski were killed in 2011 by a distracted driver in a construction zone who was traveling at a high speed. Carlson’s widow, Deb Carlson of Ramsey, says her husband was killed in an instant. “[The] car that was traveling at 70 miles per hour,” Carlson said.

Nativity Scene Figures Stolen From St. Joseph Church

In this season of giving, someone has taken part of the nativity scene from a Minnesota church. Mary and Joseph are among the figures stolen from a display outside the Church of St. Joseph, located in the town of St. Joseph. The church is led by Father Jerome Tupa, who says the manger’s appearance signals the beginning of the advent season, placed near the intersection of Main and Minnesota Streets.

Another Lawsuit Alleges Sexual Abuse From A Twin Cities Priest

Another victim came forward on Tuesday, alleging she was sexually abused by a Twin Cities Catholic clergy member. St. Paul attorneys Jeff Anderson and Mike Finnegan announced a new lawsuit, claiming that the Rev. Robert Thurner sexually abused the woman, identified as Jane Doe 23, when she was a child in the 1984-85 school year.

24 Years After His Disappearance, Jacob’s Mom Still Hopes
