A Twin Cities man believes he was targeted at his workplace because of his race. Lee Jackson says Lunda Construction hired him to work on the St. Croix Crossing project that will replace the Stillwater Bridge. After just a few months, he says he discovered a noose at the job site.
In the coming weeks, the U.S. Congress is expected to vote on a $700 million four-lane bridge connecting Minnesota and Wisconsin just south of Stillwater.
The four-lane St. Croix Crossing requires federal approval to go forward, and Governor Mark Dayton said Minnesota might lose federal funding if it isn’t approved soon.
All four U.S. senators from Minnesota and Wisconsin are behind a proposal which would clear the way for a new bridge over the St. Croix River at Stillwater.
