Chase Budinger has rejoined his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates for light workouts at practice while he works his surgically repaired left knee back into shape. Budinger likely remains a month or more from playing in games after offseason surgery to remove a portion of the meniscus in his knee. Budinger was doing some individual shooting drills after practice on Monday. He says he’s not putting a specific timetable on his return, only that he’s taking things “week by week.” Budinger signed a three-year, $16 million contract in July. But while he was working out in August to prepare for the season, he re-injured the same knee that kept him out for four months last year.
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton is recuperating following a procedure at the Mayo Clinic meant to relieve pain in his hip. An aide in the governor’s office reported just after noon Wednesday that the procedure was complete and went well.
