On this Mother’s Day, thousands took part in the 23rd annual Twin Cities Race for the Cure at the Southdale Center in Edina. It’s put on every year by the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Minnesota.
The Susan G. Komen Twin Cities 3-Day has raised $2 million for breast cancer research and community outreach programs, the organization announced Monday. Nearly 1,000 people took part in the 60-mile walk, which ended Sunday at the Minnesota State Capitol.
Officials said more than a thousand people helped raise more than $3 million over the weekend in the fight against breast cancer.
Politics before health: That’s what a growing number of people say of the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s decision to pull grant money from Planned Parenthood.
