Maplewood Man Mourns Loss Of Brother, Killed By Father

The brother of a man who was murdered by his own father speaks on the tragedy that has rocked his family. On Monday, police arrested a man for the murder of his own son. The father shot his son during an argument over cable TV. Police said 84-year-old Pang Vang turned a rifle on his 36-year-old son Chue Vang inside the home they shared in Maplewood, Minn.

32-Year-Old Man Arrested After Hopkins Standoff

A 32-year-old man is in custody after a standoff in Hopkins Monday, according to police. Hopkins Police Sgt. Mike Glassberg says police received a request at around 10:20 a.m. from Brooklyn Center to locate and arrest a suspect wanted in connection to a felony assault with a weapon.

Mpls. Police Union Won’t Fight Firing Of Cops Who Used Slurs

WCCO-TV learned Wednesday night that the Minneapolis police union won’t fight the firing of two officers caught on camera using racial slurs. The police chief terminated SWAT officers Brian Thole and Shawn Powell last week after the two got into a confrontation in Green Bay, Wis., last summer.

Eden Prairie Police Find 2 Dead In Apartment

Eden Prairie police found a woman and a man dead Saturday in a shooting that prompted the evacuation of an apartment building for several hours. Investigators weren’t immediately able to say whether the deaths were a murder-suicide or double-homicide, police spokeswoman Katie Bengtson said. But authorities are not looking for suspects, she added. A resident of the Eden Place apartment complex called 911 about 7 a.m. Saturday to report shots being fired in another unit. The Eden Prairie SWAT team and officers from other nearby suburban departments responded and surrounded the building.

Authorities Investigating Sherburne County Murder-Suicide

Authorities are investigating a murder-suicide that took place Friday afternoon in Sherburne County. The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about 1:30 p.m. Friday about Christopher Norrbom possibly having shot his wife, and threatening to shoot himself, too.
