The Piano Man is coming to Target Center next spring for his first show at the arena in 15 years. The announcement came Thursday morning after Target Center posted a photo to social media the previous night showing Times Square with a big sign reading “Happy 1999.”
The Minnesota Lynx announced Thursday its regular season schedule for 2015, which starts with a home game against the Tulsa Shock. The Lynx will open the regular season on Friday, June 5, at Target Center.

Former Minnesota Timberwolves all-star Kevin Garnett is telling the world that when he retires from the game he wants to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves. The ‘Big Ticket’ told reporters he wants to put together a group and someday buy the team.
With his signature black hat and his sentimental lyrics, Garth Brooks is bringing country back to an audience that loves him. Sandy Jung doesn’t have concert tickets yet, but she’s got some fancy cowgirl boots and a western belt with bling from Minneapolis’ Schatzlein Saddle Shop on Lake Street. “I think the fact that he’s coming back and it’s like a renewing of his kind of old style and bringing it back into current is really fun,” Jung said.
WCCO Meteorologist Chris Shaffer had a chance to sit down with Garth Brooks early Thursday night, right before the start of his 11-show run at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Twins have purchased 500 upper level tickets for Thursday night’s game, and they’ll be available to fans for free starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Minnesota Timberwolves prospects have started preparation for the NBA Summer League. The Wolves have scheduled four days of practice at Target Center before the team’s contingent travels to Las Vegas. The sessions include a free-and-open-to-the-public scrimmage on Wednesday night. The first game for the Wolves in the annual young-player showcase in Nevada is on Saturday afternoon.
