Man Allegedly Assaults Elderly Mom, 5-Hour Standoff Ensues

A 55-year-old Crow Wing County man is in custody after allegedly assaulting his elderly mother and threatening her with a gun. Paul Strom is awaiting formal charges of second-degree assault, terroristic threats and felon in possession of a firearm stemming from an incident Saturday morning in Irondale Township.

Man Allegedly Attacks Cop In Attempts To Steal Gun

A St. Paul, Minn. police officer was allegedly attacked by a Hudson, Minn. man attempting to take the officer’s gun. Anthony Michael Nickson, 49 faces two counts each of terroristic threats and attempting to disarm a police officer, and one count of terroristic threats during a violent crime.

Man Who Allegedly Police On High-Speed Boat Chase Charged

A Twin Cities father accused of leading police on a boat chase with a baby in tow has been charged Monday. Thirty-three-year-old Ryan Krueger, of Mound, was charged with one count each of fleeing a police officer, terroristic threats or reckless disregard, child endangerment and operating a motorboat under the influence of alcohol. According to authorities, around 8:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July, Krueger led police on a high-speed boat chase on Lake Minnetonka.

Charges Dropped Against Man Who Allegedly Threatened Daughter With AK-47

The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office said Monday it has dropped the charges against a man accused of threatening his daughter with an assault rifle over her grades in school. Kirill Bartashevich, 51, was charged Jan. 25, 2013, with terroristic threats in connection with the incident that happened about two weeks prior.

An 85-year old West St. Paul man is accused of threatening to shoot his neighbors over an ongoing dispute about a parking space, according to charges filed Wednesday in Dakota County Court. James Clayton Mattaini was charged with one felony count of making terroristic threats in connection with the incident, which happened Saturday in West St. Paul.

A 34-year-old Hastings woman is accused of threatening to shoot up a Burnsville hospital, leading to a lockdown late last week, according to charges filed Monday in Dakota County Court. Katrina Evelyn Schanus was charged with one count of terroristic threats in connection with the Jan. 30 incident.

18-Year-Old Arrested For Esko School Bomb Threat

An 18 year old is in the Carlton County Jail after being arrested for writing a bomb threat that led to the evacuation of Esko School on Tuesday. According to the Carlton County Sheriff’s office, Eddie Michael Edwards is suspected of leaving a written threat that was found around noon on Tuesday in the K-12 school. The building was evacuated, and everyone moved to a nearby church while bomb detection dogs were dispatched. The FBI was also involved in the situation.
