Tibetan New Year
The Dalai Lama has observed Tibetan New Year celebrations outside India for the first time since going into exile more than 50 years ago. About 3,000 Tibetan-Americans from across the country packed an auditorium Sunday morning at Augsburg College in Minneapolis to celebrate the holiday with the Buddhist spiritual leader. He spoke at Macalester College in St. Paul on Sunday afternoon.
One of the most respected people in the world is spending time in Minnesota. The Dalai Lama was in Minneapolis Saturday for a Nobel Peace Prize Forum hosted by Augsburg College.
