‘U’ Motorcycle Officer Injured In Minneapolis Chase

A University of Minnesota motorcycle officer was injured in a high-speed chase Saturday morning in Minneapolis. According to Minneapolis Police, the incident happened just after 11 a.m. in Seven Corners near the U of M’s West Bank campus. The officer ran the plate of a black SUV with a trailer attached to it and found that it was stolen.

Police: U Of M Student Molested While Walking Home

Police are investigating after a female University of Minnesota student was allegedly molested Friday evening while walking to her home near campus. According to police, around 9:20 p.m. the victim was walking to her home near Fulton Street SE and Ontario Street SE. Upon reaching her building, the victim said a man, who she believed was following her, reached out and grabbed her butt over her clothes.

Two people were robbed at gunpoint in a parking lot near the University of Minnesota’s West Bank campus early Tuesday morning. Minneapolis Police say the crime occurred at about 2:20 a.m. in the parking lot of the Hard Times Café at 1821 Riverside Ave.

University of Minnesota Receives New Sculptures

Two unique sculptures were installed at the new physics and nano-technology building at the University of Minnesota Saturday. The steel sculptures are 10 feet tall and weigh 3,000 pounds. It took the sculptor more than a year to complete them in Portland, Ore.

‘U’ To Offer Gender-Neutral Housing

The University of Minnesota will soon offer gender-neutral housing. Up to several dozen upper-division students will have access to the campus apartments, beginning in the fall of 2015. Anyone, regardless of their sex or gender identity, will be able to live there.
