St. Paul’s Como Zoo is asking the public’s help in naming its newest orangutan. The female Sumatran orangutan was born Jan. 7 via C-section. She went to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center for a short time and is now reunited with her mother.
The annual “Pet-a-Palooza” event takes place at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds on Saturday. Chris Kalis, one of the organizers for the event, says there will be fun for both people animals.
A rescued puppy is back at his foster mom’s house and healing after undergoing surgery to correct deformed front paws. The hound puppy, Cupid, underwent surgery this week. Cupid was taken in a month ago by Ruff Start Rescue. His front paws bowed out, making it difficult for the hound puppy to walk.
