While many see libraries as not keeping up with the digital devices times, one library is doing exactly that. Heidi Hoks oversees all 10 libraries in Carver County. While in between a workshop for her Carver County staff, the Library Director gave Lucia a tour of the newest building to hit Victoria.

Day 2 @ MSPIFF 2015: ‘Victoria’ Reviewed

It’s probably near impossible to see Sebastian Schipper’s Victoria and not be impressed. The entire 140-minute film is captured in one continuous shot by the incredibly athletic camerawork of Sturla Brandth Grøvlen, and never does the movie drag its feet, lose its momentum or devolve into a swirling, jittery mess. Instead, “Victoria” has a gorgeous, liquid quality. At one moment, it’ a carefree romp through nocturnal Berlin, and then it changes, right before your eyes, into a heart-pounding thriller, all gunshots and getaways.

St. Victoria Church Pastor Speaks Out On Music Director’s Resignation

Some parishioners spent their mass in tears at St. Victoria Catholic Church Sunday. It was the first official Sunday without the church’s music director of 18 years, Jamie Moore. Moore says he chose to resign after marrying his longtime partner, because Archbishop John Nienstedt asked him to.

At 90, Fmr. Gov. Quie Still Riding Horseback, Doling Out Opinions

Former Minnesota Gov. Al Quie will be 90 this year. He served as a Republican Congressman for 20 years, then just one term as governor in 1979, and in his 90th year, Quie is more active than many men half his age. From a horse stable in Victoria, the former Governor not only rides, but trains horses and clears trails.
