Authorities ID 2 Shot, Killed In Cass County Murder-Suicide

Authorities have identified two men who died in a murder-suicide last week in a Cass County home. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a call for medical assistance at about 7:18 p.m. on May 12 on the 8700 block of Midway Drive NW in the city of Onigum, which is near Walker.

Sheriff: Missing Man Found Dead In Cass County

A 22-year-old man who had been reported missing since Saturday was found dead on Tuesday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities received a report of a body found at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday in Turtle Lake Township in rural Walker, Minn.

A Cass County jury has convicted a man of killing an acquaintance as the victim begged him to stop. The county attorney’s office says the jury deliberated for three hours Friday before convicting 29-year-old Dane J. Riley of Pine River.

A 21-year-old man from Walker, Minn., was arrested in connection with a Beltrami County stabbing on Sept. 29. According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Jacob Andrew Young was arrested in Hackensack as the suspect in the stabbing of 18-year-old Jace Jeffrey Ugrich, of Bovey.
